Monster Screen Saver (ver 2.1)
------------------------------

Installation.
-------------

Unzip the file "MonsterScreen21.scr" into your windows
folder (usually C:\Windows).
In display properties, select MonsterScreen21 as your
screen-saver, then click "Settings" to configure it.

Configuration.
--------------

Click the [...] button to select the track POD file
you want to use.

The "View Range" slider determines how much of the
terrain will be displayed - the lower the distance, the
faster the screen-saver will run (ie framerate). You
can see what frame rate (frames per second) you are
getting by selecting the "Show fps" button. For best
results, adjust the "View Range" until you get around
20 fps or better.
With ViewRange on minimum you should get up to 100 fps
or more (although it doesnt look very good at that size).

Use the Gamma slider to adjustthe brightness of the display
(does not apply with teh Direct3D setting).

If you have 3D accelerator hardware in your system, the
"Direct3D" option should be used - this gives a much
better image and should be significantly faster.
This mode should work with most 3D hardware, and has been
tested with rthe following boards:

Diamond Monster3D II (voodoo2)
Hercules Stingray 128 (voodoo rush)
ATI 3D rage Pro

If you dont have 3D hardware, the Direct3D option should
still work (assumming you have DirectX 5.0 or later), but
will be very slow (and doesnt look too good).

If you do have 3D hardware and this mode doesnt work
correctly, please let me know your hardware configuration
and tell me the symptoms so I can fix it.

For MTM2 tracks, the "Water Level" option displays water
in a flat blue color.

The "Play Music" option will only work if the track includes
its own custom WAV music.
