Installation.
-------------

Create new folder - recommend C:\Program Files\Traxx
Unzip all the files into that folder and run Traxx.exe

The installation comprises:

Traxx.exe	- the program
Traxx.hlp/.cnt	- help files
ReadMe12.txt	- this file.
mtm models.txt	- list of standard BINs (courtesy jt93@jump.net)
Patterns.txp	- sample textures patterns (Voodoo Island).

Until you register, you won't be able to set the icon or browse
bitmaps for any tracks you create. In all other respects, the
program will function normally.

====================================================================

****** IMPORTANT ******

You will need to build textures and models databases before you
can begin making tracks!

You can use existing tracked folders (if you have them) or build
them up from scratch.

This is easy to do either way, and explained fully in the Help/Setup
section.

Whats new in this Version? (since 1.1)
--------------------------------------

Support animated BINs, BINs with animated textures and animated
ground-textures. Animated ground textures are created in the
Textures Box by selecting the texture to animate, then holding
<Ctrl> and selecting the others in the sequence (in order). Then
you can use the "Animation" option to change the rate and see a
preview.

Fixed failure to load some model textures - ckbox.bin now shows
arrows indicating direction.

Sounds can now be applied to scenery objects (in Properties).

Object mass buttons now range up to 99000.

The BIN model load box now has wire-frame preview displays, and
allows multiple-selections (to load more than one at a time).

The number of scenery objects is now limited to 600 to match the
game. Note that there is a limit of 550 of those that can be
collideable - if you exceed that the game will give a "too many
sims" error.

BIN model height-above-ground has been fixed, so that they should
no longer sink into the ground when you first load them. They will
also not jump around when you tweak the location by a small amount.

All three orientation angles for BIN models are now supported, and
used in the display. This allows you to "lean" or "tilt" objects.

The order in which Traxx splits the terrain squares into triangles
has been switched around to match that of the game. The terrain
rendering is therefore more accurate, and this also ensures
correct scenery object/model location relative to the terrain.

You can now Copy/Paste scenery objects as well as ground boxes
(using right-click menu and Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V keys).

The <Del> key can now be used to delete ground boxes and scenery
objects.

An occasional program crash relating to newly-loaded textures and
ground boxes has been fixed.

Undo now works for texture editing mode, as well as terrain.

A facility to save and re-load texture areas ("Patterns") has been
added in View/Patterns. This allows you to keep a database of
corners etc which you can simply copy and paste into a new track.
The ViewPODFile mode has been modified to allow copying out of
texture areas into Pattern (.txp) files.

Mirroring a non-square area of textures now works correctly.

Pasting an overlapping area of textures now works correctly.

You can now select a texture directly from the terrain via the
right-click menu, rather than having to use the Textures Box.

The <spacebar> can be used in place of the Textures Box "Apply"
button or mouse click (Paint Mode) to apply the selected texture.

Keyboard shortcuts R and M can now be used to Rotate and Mirror
texture areas (to rotate the textures in an area independently,
use Ctrl+R and Ctrl+M).

Direct keyboard altitude editing is now included. Button 8 in the
edit tools panel allows you to move individual grid points up and
down directly with the S/X (or [/]) keys.

The altitude of grid points is now shown on the display while in
terrain editing mode.

The Altitude setting is now remembered separately for the "Plane"
tool and the new direct-edit tools.

The "Generate From Main" function for extended courses has a
reduced random offset from the main course.

The water level in MTM2 tracks is now overlayed on the display (can
be switched on/off in View/Options).

A Statistics display has been added (View/Statistics) that shows
how many textures, models, etc are in the track.

Traxx now supports track type selection (Circuit, Rally and
Rumble). There is information in the Help on how to make a Rumble.

The program now checks for track modifications correctly before
proceeding with the ViewPODFile/New(MTM1)/Clone commands.

More detailed warnings are now given on any missing components when
writing POD file.

An occasional crash relating to invalid texture mappings has been
fixed.

The <shift> key can be held down while moving around to go faster.

More parameters are remebered between sessions.

Some old MTM1 textures in MTM2 pod files were displayed incorrectly
when loaded with ViewPODFile - this has been fixed.

Fixed the map display from disappearing.

Several additions, corrections and enhancements to the Help
documentation.
